Non-Profit Evaluation Case Studies
Three case studies in the "bottom-up" approach to non-profit evaluation
In October, I presented a workshop at the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network annual conference on the “bottom-up” approach to non-profit evaluation; this is an approach that I frequently use with organizations when they are stuck in a strategic planning loop and struggling to identify programmatic or organizational outcomes. The bottom-up approach, in which thoughts from front-line staff on what the program or organization is intended to accomplish are synthesized with feedback from service recipients on what is actually being accomplishing, can be a powerful method for breaking through circular, habituated, and/or “one track” thinking and can illuminate the powerful changes our programs and services are having in new and exciting ways.
That presentation included three case studies highlighting the use of the bottom-up approach. Those case studies are now available as a PDF, for free, to my subscribers, and can be downloaded here. I hope you find these helpful!
